Expeditionary airfields A custom plane arresting system via wires is needed for expeditionary airfields. With the help of the arresting wire scripts from the Nimitz a system shall be created that allows a land based wire system to stop planes upon landing on expeditionary airfields. As long as there is no model for the arresting wire system available, regular trucks for OPFOR and BLUFOR shall be used. The wire system itself is a model of four wires. The wires are animated for length, width and height. The deployment would be via a CBA monitored keypress event ctrl-w. If a truck with arresting wires is close by, the trucks fuel is set to 0 and it is locked (passengers ejected), the wires model is spawned from the right side of the truck and on the opposite side of the truck on the wires a container is placed. Later on the truck and container will be replaced by appropriate models. A plane that plans to use the ground based arresting wire system will lower its tailhook (ctrl-w), descend on the runway and when catching a wire below the max speed of 250 km/h will be slowed down rapidly to a full stop. Ideally it will roll back slightly when the max extension is reached. The plane should then raise the tailhook. The wire on the ground will visually catch the tailhook and be animated. This follows the same path of animations as the Nimitz wire system.
